Tourism Malaysia Forms Alliance with Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA
This initiative represents a significant milestone under the VM2026 campaign
Tourism Malaysia has established a strategic alliance with Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA, marking an important step for the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) initiative. This partnership aims to enhance Malaysia’s tourism ecosystem, particularly in the shopping and lifestyle sectors.
The partnership was confirmed during the launch of the Tourist Privilege Card (TPC) campaign, which took place on February 12. The event was officiated by Chiew Choon Man, the Malaysian Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and observed by Daisuke Nihei, a delegate from the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, along with other notable figures from the Malaysian tourism sector.
Chiew emphasized the necessity of collaboration between the public and private sectors as a key factor for the success of VM2026, highlighting that the Mitsui Outlet Park’s prime location, just eight minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, serves as an ideal gateway for international visitors.
The TPC initiative not only aims to stimulate international spending but also aligns with the Malaysia MADANI principles to support a resilient tourism economy. Daisuke Nihei noted that the partnership reflects a mutual commitment to aiding Malaysia’s national tourism goals through competitive incentives and visitor-centered services.
Exclusive Rewards for Visitors
From February 12 to May 12, visitors spending RM2,500 and above in a single receipt at participating outlets can redeem a cabin-size travel luggage. Additionally, those who spend RM300 or more can claim a MOP KLIA Travel Scale.
Redemptions will be limited to one per eligible visitor daily while supplies last. Beyond retail incentives, the partnership will feature joint promotions and events aimed at attracting more visitors to Malaysia, further boosting local economic growth and increasing tourism revenue.
This collaboration reinforces the objectives of the Visit Malaysia 2026 initiative, making Malaysia a vibrant and premier shopping destination.
