Agoda has launched its ‘Hat Yai Lights Up’ campaign, focusing on the vibrant city of Hat Yai in Southern Thailand as it recovers from last year’s flooding. In partnership with the Hat Yai Songkhla Hotels Association, this initiative provides travelers with exclusive discounts and a curated guidebook for exploring the city until March 2.
The campaign aims to attract visitors by highlighting Hat Yai’s lively food streets, colorful night markets, scenic viewpoints, and beautiful temples. Now that tourist attractions are fully operational, the city offers a blend of cultural experiences, cuisine, and urban excitement appealing to both leisurely and adventurous travelers.
Akaporn Rodkong, Country Director for Thailand and Indochina at Agoda, remarked, “Hat Yai continues to stand out as a destination with depth, character, and countless reasons to return.” This campaign aids the city’s recovery momentum, making it more convenient for visitors to reconnect with Hat Yai.
Dr. Sitthipong Sitthiphataraprabha, President of the Hat Yai Songkhla Hotels Association, noted, “The Hat Yai Lights Up campaign demonstrates the city’s readiness to welcome visitors again.”
Agoda’s broader commitment to supporting Thailand’s tourism goes beyond this campaign; it collaborates with WWF for wildlife conservation, offers sustainability training, and provides flexible financing for tourism businesses. In Hat Yai, Agoda has also contributed to local recovery efforts, including donating office furniture to schools and assisting Save the Children’s flood recovery, providing nearly $54,000 (THB 2 million).
