Qatar Enhances Travel Offerings for Indian Market
Visit Qatar has strengthened its focus on India by signing three key agreements aimed at boosting tourism and collaboration in 2026.
Visit Qatar has reinforced its commitment to the Indian market by signing three strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) Mumbai 2026. The agreements, made with the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), the Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI), and ClearTrip, aim to enhance destination education, product visibility, and joint marketing initiatives. These partnerships are designed to help Indian travel trade partners more effectively package and promote Qatar across leisure, weddings, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and premium travel categories.
Jassim Al Mahmoud, PR and Communications Director at Visit Qatar, highlighted the significance of the Indian market, noting that it generated 10.8 million room nights and QAR 8.3 billion in accommodation revenue in 2025. “India is a priority source market for us, with direct connectivity from over 13 Indian cities and clear momentum towards longer stays, repeat visits, and celebration travel,” he stated.
The Visit Qatar pavilion at OTM featured 14 partners, including leading hotels and destination management companies, alongside strategic partner Qatar Airways. This presence allowed Indian trade partners to explore seamless itinerary planning that combines air access, accommodation, and curated on-ground experiences into cohesive travel packages.
Visit Qatar’s participation at OTM Mumbai 2026 underscores its long-term strategy to position Qatar as a destination that offers Indian travelers compelling reasons to stay longer and return more often. Through strategic collaborations and ongoing trade engagement, Visit Qatar aims to strengthen its position in the Indian market, focusing on deeper trade alignment and clearer destination storytelling.
