Vancouver Aquarium Launches New 'Dragons' Exhibit

The Vancouver Aquarium introduces a captivating new exhibit that combines the allure of mythical dragons with real creatures to educate and engage visitors.

The Vancouver Aquarium is all set to launch a new showcase titled Dragons, starting February 7. This unique exhibit aims to combine the mythical elements of dragons with real-life creatures such as the gila monster and bearded dragon, establishing a fascinating connection between myth and reality through interactive displays and opportunities for hands-on learning.

Visitors can look forward to various sculptures designed for tactile interaction, including fully scaled replicas that visually impaired guests can explore. Daily animal presentations will run at 11 am, 12:30 pm, and 2 pm to enhance the educational experience. Mackenzie Neale, the Director of Animal Care, stated: “This exhibit allows guests to engage with creatures and interactive displays along with hands-on learning.”

Joaquin Marquez, Exhibit Lead from Little Rays Nature Centre, described the exhibit as “Where reality meets legend—discover how real animals have inspired the myths of dragons and let touch, texture, and imagination bring these legends to life.”

The Vancouver Aquarium, a landmark for oceanic education since 1956, aims to connect families with the enchanting world of dragons while providing both educational and adventurous experiences. Interested families can plan their visit at vanaqua.org.
