United Airlines Unveils Starlink Wi-Fi Enhancement in Upcoming Ad Campaign

United Airlines is set to launch a new advertisement showcasing its comprehensive Wi-Fi upgrade featuring Starlink technology, aiming to enhance inflight connectivity for passengers.

United Airlines has successfully equipped more than 300 of its two-cabin regional aircraft with Starlink Wi-Fi, marking a significant milestone in its efforts to enhance inflight connectivity. The airline plans to expand this service to over 500 mainline aircraft by the end of 2026, providing passengers with high-speed internet at 30,000 feet for activities like streaming live sports and online gaming.

Currently, over 25% of United’s daily departures, about 1,200 flights, feature Starlink Wi-Fi. Customer satisfaction scores for inflight Wi-Fi have nearly doubled, with passengers praising its reliability and gate-to-gate connectivity. Grant Milstead, United’s VP of Digital Technology, commented, “We’re rolling out Starlink at an unprecedented speed and scale.”

To celebrate this achievement, United will air a new advertisement during the Big Game on February 8, highlighting the transformative nature of Starlink Wi-Fi as passengers experience seamless connectivity for various activities. Maggie Schmerin, United’s Chief Advertising Officer, stated, “Starlink is transforming the inflight experience on United planes.”

The advertisement will broadcast in several local markets, including Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Denver, where many of United’s flights are already fitted with Starlink. As United expands this service, it aims to provide innovative connectivity throughout its fleet and enhance the overall passenger experience.
