Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines Strengthen Partnership
Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines have confirmed a new joint business partnership to enhance connectivity and customer experience.
Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) and Singapore Airlines (SIA) recently confirmed the formalization of their joint business partnership. This new arrangement follows the approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) last month and the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore in July 2025.
The partnership aims to improve connectivity and provide enhanced flexibility for travelers between Malaysia and Singapore. Key initiatives could include revenue-sharing flights, joint fare structures, synchronized flight schedules, and cooperative corporate travel arrangements.
The airlines are expected to share more information as new programs roll out.
Moving forward together
Izham bin Ismail, Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group, emphasized the strategic nature of this collaboration, which supports the Group’s Long-Term Business Plan 3.0. He remarked that “this collaboration brings together complementary frequencies and aligned schedules, enabling deeper connectivity between Malaysia and Singapore.”
Goh Choon Phong, Chief Executive of Singapore Airlines, expressed gratitude to the authorities for their support in fostering this partnership, highlighting its potential to enhance customer value and strengthen the deep-rooted links between both nations that facilitate economic growth.
Since their initial agreement in October 2019, MAB and SIA have broadened their codeshare collaboration significantly. SIA now codeshares on flights operated by Malaysia Airlines to various domestic and international destinations, while MAB is involved in codesharing with SIA on numerous international routes.
