
Akasa Air Unveils New Aircraft at WINGS India 2026
Akasa Air showcased its new Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft at the WINGS India 2026 event, emphasizing passenger comfort and participation in key industry forums.
Akasa Air, known as India’s fastest-growing airline, made a significant impact at WINGS India 2026 by unveiling its first purpose-built Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft. The event, a key fixture in the civil aviation calendar, saw Akasa Air actively participating in industry discussions and showcasing its innovations at a dedicated exhibition stall.
The newly displayed aircraft is tailored to Akasa’s specifications, featuring Safran Z200 seats designed for enhanced passenger comfort. These seats come with a 4-inch recline, ergonomically contoured backrests, and additional conveniences such as USB-C and USB-A ports, catering to modern travelers’ needs. Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO of Akasa Air, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “WINGS India brings together leading voices from across the global aviation ecosystem, offering a moment to reflect on the scale, ambition, and momentum of India’s aviation journey.”
During the conference, Dube participated in the Global CEO’s Forum and the Airlines Panel, engaging with industry leaders and policymakers on the future of air connectivity and the role of airlines in India’s economic and tourism growth. Priya Mehra, Chief of Governance & Strategic Acquisitions, contributed to discussions on aircraft leasing and financing, emphasizing global best practices.
Akasa Air’s participation was further marked by the formal presentation of its International Air Transport Association (IATA) membership certificate, underscoring its rapid growth and commitment to advancing India’s civil aviation sector.
