Sofitel Launches Opulent Hotel and Convention Centre in Riyadh
Sofitel has inaugurated its first luxury hotel in Riyadh, showcasing a blend of French elegance and local heritage.
Sofitel, the luxury hospitality brand from Accor, has officially launched its first hotel in Riyadh, marking a crucial step in its expansion into Saudi Arabia. Situated in the prestigious Ar Rahmaniyyah neighborhood, the Sofitel Riyadh Hotel and Convention Centre offers 388 luxurious rooms and houses the largest convention center within a luxury hotel in Riyadh, covering almost 8,500 square meters. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to boost the Kingdom’s global connectivity and cultural appeal.
The hotel is conveniently located just 35 minutes from King Khalid International Airport and is close to significant landmarks such as the Kingdom Centre Tower and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Diriyah. The architectural design is inspired by the desert dunes and the first Arabic letter of King Abdullah’s name, symbolizing a fusion of French elegance and local heritage.
Sofitel Riyadh offers a variety of culinary experiences, including the Lebanese-inspired “Thu-rya” and the French Mediterranean brasserie “Toi et Moi.” Additionally, it features the Princess Nouf International Convention Centre, which can accommodate up to 4,000 guests, making it an ideal venue for international conferences and events.
In collaboration with Clarins, the Sofitel Spa will soon provide a wellness sanctuary, offering numerous treatments and facilities. The hotel’s opening is part of Sofitel’s broader global growth strategy, with plans for nearly 40 new properties in the upcoming years. CEO Maud Bailly emphasized the Middle East’s strategic significance for Sofitel, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to cultural and luxury hospitality in the region.
