Skyscanner Launches New Tool for Finding Affordable Travel Destinations in 2026
The new Cheapest Destination Planner from Skyscanner aims to help Indian travelers easily find the most affordable destinations and travel dates for their trips in 2026.
Skyscanner has unveiled a new tool named Cheapest Destination Planner, which is designed to help Indian travelers manage the complexities of planning trips for 2026. With 84% of Indian travelers aiming for international trips this year, this tool alleviates the stress associated with numerous choices and changing fares.
The app allows users to pinpoint the most affordable destinations and the optimal days for flights each month, enhancing travel planning efficiency and saving costs.
At an event in Delhi, Neel Ghose, Skyscanner’s Travel Trends & Destinations Expert, noted a surge in travel interest, with a reported 25% increase in searches in early January of this year compared to early 2025. “Travelers are eager to explore the year ahead,” Ghose mentioned, highlighting the importance of clarity in light of rising costs and extensive options.
The release of the planner coincides with research indicating that 50% of Indian travelers would book vacations in January if they had clearer information on economical destinations and travel days. Skyscanner’s studies also specify that Wednesdays are the cheapest days to fly in 2026—a fact many are unaware of. Furthermore, the app features like price alerts and a ‘Everywhere’ search provide additional opportunity for savings.
Suryakumar ‘SKY’ Yadav, Skyscanner’s Brand Ambassador, praised the tool’s impact on simplifying trip planning, enabling users to concentrate more on enjoying their vacations. As return fares to the top 10 cheapest destinations begin at less than $120 (INR 10,000), Skyscanner showcases that affordable travel will be accessible for Indian travelers in 2026.
