Philippines Achieves 6.4 Million Visitor Arrivals by End of 2025
The Philippines welcomed a total of 6.4 million visitors in 2025, comprising both foreign tourists and returning Filipinos.
The Philippines reported a total of 6.4 million visitor arrivals as of December 31, 2025, which remains below the 8.4 million target projected by the Department of Tourism (DOT) earlier in the year. This figure includes both foreign tourists and returning Filipinos, contributing to a total of PHP 694 billion in tourism revenue.
According to the Department of Tourism’s statement, 5,940,975 of these arrivals were foreign visitors, arriving via both airlines and cruises. Although the numbers show progress, they still demonstrate a significant gap compared to the pre-pandemic levels.
Despite the challenges posed by travel restrictions and market uncertainties, the outcomes indicate a positive trend for the tourism sector in the Philippines. The DOT emphasized the importance of measuring performance not solely by the number of arrivals but also by domestic tourism activities, job creation, and overall value generated.
In line with the National Tourism Development Plan 2023-2028, the agency aims to enhance connectivity, bolster safety measures, and improve workforce skills across the industry.
