APT Launches Exclusive Luxury River Cruise for Australian Star
APT Luxury Travel has introduced all-inclusive luxury river cruise package for the Australian Star, launching in February 2026.
Introduction
APT Luxury Travel has unveiled a new all-inclusive package for the Australian Star, Australia’s first five-star river vessel set to debut in February 2026.
The package allows travelers to secure a substantial discount of USD $384 (AUD $600) on bookings made before January 31, 2026.
About the Australian Star
With a guest capacity of 38, the Australian Star will elevate the standards of luxury cruising along the Murray River through a combination of heritage and modern design. Constructed by Murray River Paddlesteamers, it is the largest paddlesteamer in the Southern Hemisphere and the only wood-fired, five-star vessel of its kind around the world.
The vessel is equipped with a deluxe lounge, a gourmet restaurant, and 19 staterooms featuring ensuite facilities, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Its hybrid propulsion system includes a wood-fired steam engine, dating back to 1907, which lends a nostalgic ambience to the cruising experience.
Onboard Experience
APT’s exclusive seven-night cruise package begins in Melbourne, offering round-trip transport to Echuca along with onboard dining, beverages, and guided excursions.
This combination of luxurious travel, historical elements, and peaceful exploration makes it a distinctive proposal in the Australian travel landscape. Highlights include a wine tasting at the Murray Gums Estate vineyard, a lantern tour of Echuca, and a gourmet barbecue under the stars.
Fares are priced from AUD $8095 (approximately USD $5185) per person, with an additional early booking discount of AUD $300 available.
The Australian Star promises an immersive voyage through the scenic landscapes of the Murray River, operating year-round with cruises lasting up to seven nights.
