Albert Beniflah Reflects on Marbella's Unique Experiences and Future Projects

An interview with Albert Beniflah, CEO and founder of Grupo Mosh, discussing his impact on Marbella's hospitality sector and his vision for the future.

Albert Beniflah has transformed Marbella into an international reference for gastronomic and entertainment experiences. With iconic projects such as MOSH, Playa Padre, and MOMENTO, he stands out for his ability to combine music, design, and gastronomy to offer unique experiences. His business vision is focused on teamwork, creativity, and emotional connection with the audience. In this interview, he shares the foundations of his philosophy, reflects on Marbella’s promising future, and addresses neighborhood concerns about his upcoming project at the former Aresbank building.

You are known for impacting the hospitality and leisure development in Marbella. How did your journey begin?
I graduated in Law from the European University of Madrid and have spent my life in the communication and leisure industry, a journey I started in 2005. My great opportunity came through Olivia Valère, with whom I worked for more than seven years as director of her iconic club. In 2016, I was eager to create concepts around gastronomy and leisure that hadn’t yet reached Marbella; that’s when I founded Grupo Mosh with a group of partners and friends starting with our first restaurant, Mosh Fun Kitchen, which we’ve just completely renovated into MOSH, reaffirming our leadership in the dinner show format.

What would you say are the pillars of your business philosophy?
For us, it’s essential to focus on service, starting with well-integrated, close-knit teams that enjoy their work and feel part of this big family; we like to inspire through music, a central element in our lives and work; we aim for gastronomy to be straightforward yet ambitious enough to surprise our customers with every visit; and, finally, we aim to astonish through the conceptualization of our venues—their interior design, location, and staff attire. Everything composes a visual picture that impacts before anything else.

Marbella is a city of reference for you. What does this place mean in your life and career?
This city is my home, and I have formed my own family here. It’s my office and the destination where we have been able to create unique experiences. I owe a lot to Marbella, and I’m convinced that along with my partners, we’ve provided great spaces and moments contributing to Marbella’s privileged place in the world.

How would you define Grupo Mosh and what makes it different from others?
At Grupo Mosh, we are passion and fun. We are professionals in creating sensory experiences through music, cuisine, and ambiance. We create, plan and bring concepts and events; most importantly, we feature international artists who fill stadiums yet choose our spaces to feel a unique connection with the audience. We are also drawn to architecture, interior design, fashion, music, and gastronomy—essential elements in our venues. We combine each of these elements, varying their proportions and significance to create distinct results and a unique identity. We always start from a common place and shape it to achieve surprising outcomes, which offers us a differential advantage, allowing us to create an offer that evolves throughout the day (even within a single venue) and connects our embassies, creating a global experience, practically day and night.

In recent years, your projects have gained significant momentum. Which ones have been most meaningful to you?
For us, MOSH is special because it was the first and marked a turning point in our lives and in Marbella, as a leader in a previously unknown restaurant and leisure concept. We are a reference for many businesses and entrepreneurs who want to follow in our footsteps. On the other hand, our partnership with Grupo Dani García and what that means—hand in hand with one of the best chefs in the world—is a major step and a great responsibility. Together, we’ve launched La Cabane, and soon we will surprise everyone with a great project reviving the legendary Marbella property, Aresbank. But in summary, all our projects are part of ourselves and hold significant meaning.

Behind every entrepreneur is a human being. How do you balance personal life with professional career?
I’m lucky to feel passionate about my work, and I enjoy everything I do. Additionally, my wife is part of Grupo Mosh as a partner, so we share work and family life. Furthermore, I consider myself largely spiritual and family-oriented; for me, my family comes first, so it’s fortunate to have a job that allows me to also spend time with my wife and children while enjoying our venues.

What is your vision for the future of Marbella and your upcoming projects?
Complete success. Marbella has a thriving tourism, service sector, and forecast for growth and investment. I predict a 2025 filled with good moments and experiences that will keep the city on the map of the most sought-after destinations for tourists both within and outside our borders. Right now, there isn’t a place in all of Spain that has an equivalent offer in terms of gastronomy, entertainment, music, and leisure, without neglecting a single one of these areas, and all functioning together like the machinery of a clock. Through MOSH, Motel Particulier, Momento, Playa Padre, Nido Estepona, or La Cabane, we always aim to offer the best—exclusive experiences that make people feel good, enjoy and leave them wanting more. We see the future as very promising, with great projects and news that keep us as leaders in the sector for years.

What message would you give to young entrepreneurs aspiring for success?
To trust their instincts, their dreams, their passion, and their hard work. They will encounter barriers and obstacles, of course, but fulfilling one’s dream and enjoying the achievements is a wonderful feeling and great satisfaction.

Regarding neighborhood criticisms of your new business project alongside Grupo Dani García at the old Aresbank building in Marbella:
Neighbors have expressed great concern about the final destination of Aresbank, accusing it of urban irregularities and fearing that the project will turn into a ‘mega-disco’. What is your response to these accusations? What measures are you taking to address these concerns? We want the neighbors to be calm. We are from Marbella, and we only seek a positive impact for our city. In no way is it a nightclub but rather a high gastronomy and leisure venue intended to coexist in harmony with the neighbors, just like other businesses we have had for years that have not posed any problems. I have mentioned before that through this project, we will bring life back to a building that has been abandoned for thirty years, with the risks that entails, and we will generate 200 direct and indirect job opportunities.

How are you managing the relationship with the neighbors and what kind of communication are you establishing to ensure their concerns are addressed?
We are available to the neighbors and anyone who wants to know more about our project. We absolutely do not want them to feel threatened or uneasy. Grupo Mosh is very well-known in Marbella, as is Grupo Dani García. This new project will only bring prosperity to the city. We are using the media to express our intentions and try to reassure the community. Thank you for voicing our intentions.
