airBaltic celebrates its three-decade milestone since starting its Copenhagen to Riga route, enhancing travel options for passengers.
Celebrating a Milestone
airBaltic, the foremost airline in the Baltics, is jubilantly celebrating the 30th anniversary of its Copenhagen to Riga route this January. This route, one of the airline’s earliest direct services, now offers up to three daily flights that connect passengers to over 80 destinations via Riga, Latvia’s capital and the Baltics’ main airport.
Mantas Vrubliauskas, airBaltic’s VP of Network Management, emphasized the success of this route: “Our flights between both capitals have provided customers with convenient and reliable travel options for both business and leisure.”
As part of its commitment to customer satisfaction, the airline intends to increase flight frequencies this summer. Peter Krogsgaard, Chief Commercial Officer of Copenhagen Airport, congratulated airBaltic, reflecting on their beneficial 30-year partnership while expressing hope for further expansion of connections to the Baltic region.
Currently, airBaltic serves two Danish cities: Copenhagen, with flights to Riga and Tallinn, Estonia, and Billund, which offers services to Gran Canaria, Spain. Notably, the airline operates a modern fleet of Airbus A220-300 and is the first in Europe to provide complimentary high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet on its flights. Passengers can choose between Economy and Business Class options for a personalized travel experience.
Over the past thirty years, airBaltic has evolved into a globally recognized carrier, linking the Baltic States to numerous European destinations and enhancing regional connectivity.
