Ontario Airport Visitor Pass Approaches 100,000 Registrations

The ONT+ Visitor Pass program at Ontario International Airport is nearing a significant milestone with nearly 100,000 users, enhancing airport access for non-ticketed visitors.

Ontario International Airport’s ONT+ Visitor Pass Programme is on the verge of reaching 100,000 registered users, showcasing its success in enhancing airport experiences. Launched in 2022, this programme allows non-ticketed visitors to access post-security terminals, enabling them to accompany travelers to the gate or enjoy the airport’s amenities. This initiative makes Ontario International the first US airport to offer such a digital pass, setting a precedent for others.

As of late December, the programme had 98,854 users, with numbers steadily increasing. The success is attributed to the airport’s collaboration with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), ensuring seamless operation whilst maintaining security standards. “ONT is about putting people first, whether they’re travelling or simply here to support someone they care about,” said Atif Elkadi, CEO of the Ontario International Airport Authority. The programme’s popularity is particularly evident during the holiday season, reinforcing the airport’s community-focused approach.

The ONT+ programme has garnered national interest as airports seek to reintroduce limited public access beyond security, a practice largely abandoned post-9/11. Ontario International continues to explore enhancements to the programme, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and customer experience. This initiative is part of the airport’s broader efforts to celebrate a decade of local control, with events and activities planned leading up to its anniversary on November 1, 2026.
