
Milestones Achieved by Emirates in 2025
Emirates marked its 40th anniversary in 2025 with significant achievements including new routes and technology enhancements.
Emirates celebrated a landmark year in 2025, marking its 40th anniversary and reaching several significant milestones. The airline transported 556 million passengers, completed approximately 180,580 flights around the world, and placed orders for 73 new aircraft. The introduction of the Emirates A350, which began commercial operations in January, expanded the airline’s reach to 18 cities, with plans to include Montreal by February 2026.
Additionally, Emirates enhanced its presence in Asia with new routes to Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Danang, and Siem Reap. The airline’s commitment to improving the passenger experience was highlighted through the implementation of Starlink WiFi across its fleet, aiming to equip 123 aircraft with high-speed internet by the end of 2026.
In sports sponsorship, Emirates secured notable deals, including a seven-year partnership with FC Bayern Munich and a historic contract extension with World Rugby through 2035. They also launched Emirates Courier Express, a service for quicker cross-border deliveries.
Emirates Skywards celebrated its 25th anniversary with 37 million members worldwide. Their corporate social responsibility initiative, Aircrafted KIDS, provided over 3,700 backpacks to underprivileged children in eight countries. Furthermore, Emirates became the world’s first Autism Certified Airline, introducing various accessibility features and programs.
The airline’s focus on luxury and excellence continued with the establishment of its Centre of Hospitality Excellence in Dubai and the unveiling of new onboard amenities. Emirates wrapped up the year with 25 accolades, including being named Best Airline in the World for the eighth consecutive year at the ULTRAs.
