Alaska Airlines Broadens Route Network from Anchorage and Portland
Alaska Airlines is set to enhance its service with new nonstop routes connecting major cities from its hubs.
Alaska Airlines is expanding its operations by adding seven new nonstop routes from its hubs in Anchorage and Portland. This initiative, commencing in spring 2026, will connect travelers to exciting destinations like Boston, Jackson Hole, and cities throughout Washington.
The service from Anchorage will feature routes to Boise, Boston, and Spokane, starting from mid-June until mid-August. With these additions, the total nonstop destinations from Anchorage will reach 17, marking the highest number for the peak summer season. Notably, the airway to Boise will be introduced as a new route, while service to Spokane is being reestablished after ten years.
In Portland, new routes will begin from mid-March with daily year-round flights to Bellingham and Everett, and twice-daily flights to Pasco. There will also be a seasonal route to Jackson Hole, operating bi-weekly from June to September.
Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines, expressed the significance of Anchorage and Portland in the airline’s expanding network, noting, “The state of Alaska remains a highly desired destination for travelers, especially during the summer months.”
This expansion aligns with Alaska Airlines’ strategy to solidify its position on the West Coast and enhance premium travel experiences while responding to the rising demand for travel to and from Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
