Turkish Airlines Launches Its First European Lounge in Edinburgh

Turkish Airlines unveils its inaugural lounge in Europe, located at Edinburgh Airport, providing travelers with a remarkable experience.

Turkish Airlines has inaugurated its first European lounge outside Türkiye at Edinburgh Airport, marking a significant milestone for the airline. The lounge, which opened on 10 December, offers a luxurious experience for travellers and underscores Edinburgh’s status as a growing international gateway.

Spanning 673 square metres, the lounge can accommodate 149 guests and features an open buffet with Turkish pide, a relaxation area with TVs and Wi-Fi, and two prayer rooms. Additional amenities include an accessible restroom, a baby care room, and flight information screens. The lounge is accessible to Turkish Airlines Business Class passengers, Miles&Smiles members, and those with a Paid Lounge membership card.

Chief Operations Officer M. Akif Konar highlighted the importance of the new lounge, stating, “The opening of our new Turkish Airlines Lounge at Edinburgh Airport marks an important milestone for our airline.” He emphasised the airline’s commitment to expanding its presence in Europe, where it is already recognised as the continent’s best airline by Skytrax Awards.

Edinburgh International Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer Stephanie Wear expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting that the lounge offers a relaxing space with excellent runway views and food options.

Turkish Airlines operates 10 weekly flights between Edinburgh and Istanbul, connecting Scottish travellers to 356 destinations in 132 countries through its extensive global network. This new lounge is part of Turkish Airlines’ strategy to bring its renowned hospitality to international travellers, enhancing their journey from Edinburgh.
