Saudia Leads in Promoting Sports via SPL
Saudia's initiatives enhance sports tourism and global cultural exchanges, showcasing the Kingdom's vision for 2030.
Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, is actively supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative by promoting sports tourism and enhancing cultural exchanges globally. Recently, Saudia invited Payal Ramesh Basude, a talented goalkeeper representing India, to experience the vibrant cultural and sporting environment of Saudi Arabia. During her visit, she attended a thrilling Saudi Pro League (SPL) match between Al Nassr and Al Ittihad, showcasing prominent players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
In addition to enjoying the match, Payal explored Jeddah’s scenic locales such as the Historic Al-Balad district and the Red Sea Mall. The SPL, featuring clubs such as Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, has rapidly established itself as one of the world’s premier football leagues, with recent milestones such as Al-Hilal’s victory over Manchester City in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Payal also experienced the luxurious amenities of Saudia’s Business Class, which includes plush seating and premium dining options. A special tour of the Prince Sultan Aviation Academy furthered her understanding of the airline’s role in aviation training and innovation.
Saudia’s dedication to sports encompasses a variety of events, including Formula E and equestrian championships, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s broader objective to diversify its economy and bolster tourism. By facilitating these experiences, Saudia not only promotes sports tourism but also encourages cultural dialogue and inspires young athletes, particularly women.
As Saudi Arabia’s global gateway, Saudia continues to play a crucial role in connecting cultures and fostering common interests.
