Dubai International Airport Anticipates Busy Year-End Travel Season with Over 10 Million Guests Expected

Dubai International Airport is set to experience a peak in travel as over 10 million guests are projected to travel through during the year-end holiday season.

Dubai International (DXB) is preparing for a significant travel surge starting from November 27 until December 31, 2025, with over 10 million guests expected to pass through the airport.

The travel surge will coincide with the UAE National Day long weekend, with daily passenger averages exceeding 294,000. December is anticipated to be particularly busy, with more than 8.7 million guests projected, potentially making it the busiest month ever recorded at DXB. The busiest day is expected to be December 20, with guest numbers likely surpassing 303,000.

During this peak period, travel will include both arrivals and departures. In the lead-up to National Day, outbound flights will dominate as residents benefit from the long weekend. By mid-December, inbound travel is expected to increase significantly due to Dubai’s vibrant festive calendar.

Dubai Airports is coordinating closely with partners, including airlines and service teams, to facilitate smoother operations. They have shared smart travel tips for guests:

  • If flying with Emirates, leverage their home check-in, early check-in, and city check-in options at ICD Brookfield Place.
  • Arrive at the airport no more than three hours before your flight; utilize online check-in to save time.
  • Families with children over 12 can use Smart Gates to expedite passport control.
  • Emirates First and Business Class passengers can benefit from the “Red Carpet” Smart Tunnel for a seamless passport check.
  • Be informed about travel regulations and prepare the necessary documents.
  • It’s advised to pack spare batteries in carry-on luggage properly and limit farewell gatherings at the terminal to only travelers.
  • Use the Dubai Metro for commuting to and from Terminals 1 and 3, with extended operational hours during peak times.
  • Enhanced assistance is available for guests with special needs, including dedicated service routes and support staff.
  • Utilize DXB Express Maps for navigation updates in the airport via QR code.
  • Enjoy world-class amenities at DXB, including restaurants and duty-free shopping before flights.
