Qatar Airways Launches 'Qatar Airways United' Initiative with Rio Ferdinand

The new program aims to empower youth through sports and community-building opportunities.

Qatar Airways has unveiled its new initiative called ‘Qatar Airways United’, created in collaboration with renowned football icon Rio Ferdinand. This project, launched during the Milan Derby at the San Siro Stadium on November 23, 2025, is devoted to empowering young individuals through sports.

The inaugural event allowed children with visual disabilities to witness this iconic match, thanks to support from Real Eyes Sport. Engaging these young ones, Inter’s Vice President Javier Zanetti emphasized the importance of mentorship and providing unforgettable experiences for underprivileged youth.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, CEO of Qatar Airways, remarked on the transformative power of sports and reiterated the commitment to uplift the next generation. Rio Ferdinand echoed this sentiment, sharing how sports have profoundly shaped his own life and expressing eagerness to help young people find similar opportunities through this initiative.

Upcoming activities will feature more interactions, including the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Grand Prix, scheduled for November 28-30, 2025, where children will gain special access to the racing weekend.
