Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is set to establish a luxurious VVIP terminal and private jet hangar, aiming to enhance its status as a global tourism and entertainment hub.
Expanding the Emirate’s Attraction as a Global Tourism and Entertainment Destination
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport has announced new plans at the Dubai Airshow for a luxurious VVIP terminal and a private jet hangar in a collaboration with Falcon Executive Aviation, part of Alex Group Investment, significantly boosting Ras Al Khaimah’s prospects as a global tourism hub. This facility aims to provide a premium gateway for VVIP travelers visiting the Northern Emirates.
The airport will develop a ‘Fixed Base Operation’ facility, a vital component of the Emirate’s broader aviation and tourism strategy. This new facility encompasses a lavish 1,500 square meter terminal, an 8,000 square meter multi-purpose hangar, and 9,000 square meters of aircraft parking areas, strategically located just 15 minutes from the Eastern Province’s finest beach resorts and the Wynn Al Marjan Island integrated resort.
Salem Al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah’s Department of Civil Aviation remarked, “This announcement marks a major milestone in the Emirate’s growth as a premier destination globally. The new facility will enhance our aviation infrastructure and our ability to attract high-value visitors, investors, and global partnerships.”
He continued, “This initiative is crucial for the sustainable development of our tourism sector, as we incorporate advanced technologies and environmentally responsible design, aligning ourselves with future mobility trends.”
Additionally, Sultan Rashit Abdulla Rashit Al Shene, Founder & Chairman of Alex Group Investment, highlighted that their expansion into Ras Al Khaimah signifies a vital step in their vision for uplifted private aviation services across the UAE, blending luxury with advanced operational and sustainability standards.
The VVIP terminal will feature four exclusive lounges, a royal lounge, and dedicated hospitality areas tailored to the expectations of high-profile travelers. Built to international aviation standards, it will also accommodate modern private aviation needs, including private aircraft hangars and helipads.
Sustainability is a key focus, as structures will aim for LEED Gold certification and incorporate solar energy solutions, electric ground support equipment, and sustainable aviation fuels, driving toward a net-zero operational emissions goal.
Construction is to commence soon, with expectations to complete over the next 15 months, aiming to open the state-of-the-art facility in the first quarter of 2027.
