Ho Chi Minh City Advances Vietnamese Tourism Initiatives in Denmark

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism initiates a new program in Denmark to boost tourism and culture.

As part of its strategy to attract high-spending international tourists, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism held the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Programme in Copenhagen, Denmark, on November 19. This event, facilitated by a partnership with Vietnam Airlines, aims to highlight Vietnam as a vibrant and culturally rich destination while announcing the launch of the new direct flight route between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen.

This marks the first non-stop flight service between Vietnam and Denmark, enhancing tourism cooperation, trade, and cultural exchange between the nations and fortifying ties with Northern Europe.

Taking the Show on the Road

The program includes a tourism roadshow, co-hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Vietnam Airlines, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, and the Saigontourist Group, featuring the unique tourism offerings of the New Ho Chi Minh City, structured around three main pillars:

  • Ho Chi Minh City: Services as a financial and cultural international tourism hub showcasing dynamic urban experiences.
  • Binh Duong Area: Industrial and MICE tourism center focusing on high-quality conventions and exhibitions.
  • Ba Ria - Vung Tau Area: Coastal destination known for leisure and beach tourism.

A New Route to Europe

Vietnam Airlines plans to inaugurate its Ho Chi Minh City - Copenhagen route on December 15, featuring three weekly round-trip flights, significantly reducing travel time to about 12 hours. This direct link represents a strategic expansion of Vietnam Airlines’ European presence, strengthening ties for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, emphasized the importance of this direct flight service in solidifying the city’s role as Vietnam’s primary international tourism gateway.
