Skyscanner's First Snack Transit Pop-Up Invades India

The event, inspired by the 'Shelf Discovery' trend, draws thousands of visitors to sample international snacks.

Event Overview

Skyscanner’s first-ever Snack Transit Pop-Up made waves in India, bringing local food enthusiasts to explore international snacks at two key locations. Inspired by the ‘Shelf Discovery’ trend noted in Skyscanner’s Travel Trends 2026 Report, this activation aimed to tap into Indian travelers’ love for culinary adventures abroad.

The pop-up attracted over 2,000 visitors in Delhi and Mumbai, offering samples from 16 different countries, with snacks valued at INR 10,00,000. On November 14 at Select CityWalk, Delhi, and November 15 at Carter Road, Mumbai, attendees enjoyed this unique fusion of food and travel.

From ‘Shelf Discovery’ to Street Discovery

Participants redeemed snacks via a QR code that linked to the Skyscanner app, demonstrating how food can serve as a bridge to cultural exploration. Through engaging activities like trivia games and photo opportunities, the event successfully blended culinary excitement with travel inspiration.

Reflecting on the event, Neel Ghose stated, > “The Skyscanner Snack Transit isn’t just about food; it’s about the way we travel today. Curiosity has become the new currency of travel, and by reimagining global snacks as symbols of exploration, we wanted to show how travel inspiration can be both tangible and universal.”

This groundbreaking initiative not only celebrated local cuisine but also enhanced community engagement through social media sharing and interactions.
