
Airbus recently announced the opening of its Tech Hub in Daejeon, South Korea on November 18. This new facility will act as a focal point for research and innovation in collaboration with local industry leaders and academic institutions.

- Purpose: To enhance collaborative efforts in technology development, including energy technologies and advanced composites.
- Commitments: In partnership with the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Resources (MOTIR) and Daejeon Metropolitan City for quick innovation.
Agreements:
Airbus signed three Memorandums of Understanding during the launch to support its initiatives:
- MOTIR Agreement: Focused on enabling swift project launches in Daejeon’s tech ecosystem.
- Daejeon City Agreement: To expedite research efforts in collaboration with the city’s tech landscape.
- KITA Agreement: Targeting new technological partnerships through KITA’s open innovation platform.
Among announced partnerships, Airbus will collaborate with LIG Nex1 on communication technology and EMCoretech on developments for electrification applications.
Long-standing Partnership:
Airbus has enjoyed a partnership with Korea for over 50 years, establishing a strong customer base and numerous supply chain collaborations, currently sustaining around 6,000 jobs in Korea.
