Qatar Airways Achieves Major Milestone with Over 100 Starlink-Enabled Aircraft

Qatar Airways has successfully installed Starlink connectivity in over 100 widebody aircraft, leading the industry in onboard Wi-Fi performance.

Since the launch of the world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 777 in October 2024, Qatar Airways has completed over 30,000 flights across six continents, reaching major destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Americas.

Qatar Airways, the airline operating the largest number of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft, has marked a significant achievement by equipping over 100 widebody aircraft with the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky. This accomplishment signifies one of the most rapid and ambitious Starlink installation programs in the aviation sector, executed ahead of the originally planned schedule to provide prompt service to passengers.

With over 50% of its widebody fleet now connected to Starlink, the airline, honored as the World’s Best Airline by Skytrax in 2025 for the ninth time, has maintained uninterrupted, high-speed, gate-to-gate connectivity on more than 30,000 flights. This rapid expansion solidifies Qatar Airways’ status as the only airline in the MENA region currently offering Starlink on board, establishing itself as a global leader in long-haul and ultra-long-haul connectivity.

CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer stated: “We continue to lead the industry by setting new benchmarks with real actions, not just plans. We have accelerated our Starlink rollout, enabling us to provide the best travel experience for our passengers immediately, not as a future goal. Equipping over 100 widebody aircraft since our first Starlink-equipped flight in October 2024 illustrates this commitment.”

To date, Qatar Airways has completed the rollout of Starlink across its Boeing 777 fleet and is quickly finalizing the installation across its Airbus A350 aircraft. As the airline continues to expand Starlink connectivity across its global network of over 170 destinations, passengers in every class enjoy complimentary, ultra-fast, gate-to-gate connectivity on flights stretching across six continents, including many popular routes to the Americas, Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

This transformative service is reshaping the in-flight experience for both business and leisure travelers, facilitating seamless streaming, gaming, and work capabilities at cruising altitudes. Qatar Airways leads in both the number of Starlink-equipped aircraft and as the only carrier in the MENA region currently providing in-flight Starlink connectivity, reaffirming its position as the world’s front-runner in innovation, reliability, and an unparalleled passenger experience.
