The new expansive schedule aims to strengthen Finnair’s European network, featuring twelve new routes for the summer of 2026. Routes announced earlier this year to places like Alta, Catania, Florence, Kos, and Valencia will be complemented with additional flights to destinations in Estonia, Luxembourg, Norway, Greece, Albania, Italy, and Sweden.
Anssi Partanen, Finnair’s Market Director for the UK and Ireland, stated:
“While this year comes to an end, here at Finnair we are already looking ahead and getting ready to take off with our super schedule for 2026.”
“These new flights will prove very popular with those travelling for business, leisure, or visiting family and friends.”
The increased Norwegian offerings include a new route to Stavanger, operated up to eight times a week, thereby expanding Finnair’s reach to eight Norwegian destinations. With this enhancement, Finnair anticipates operating 82 weekly flights to Norway during the summer period in 2026.
Known for its vibrant culinary scene and outdoor activities, Stavanger will be welcoming travellers during its famous Gladmat food festival. It is renowned among hiking enthusiasts due to its proximity to beautiful sites like the Lysefjord and notable natural attractions, Preikestolen and Kjeragbolten.
Alongside Stavanger, Alta, dubbed the ‘City of Northern Lights,’ will also be integrated into Finnair’s Nordic network, making it an ideal location for experiencing the Aurora Borealis.
Finnair is also launching services to Umeå in Sweden, enhancing its presence in the region, and will begin operations to Kuressaare in Estonia, which is perfect for those looking for outdoor adventures and a rich cultural experience.
In addition to these expansions in Northern Europe, flights will also commence from Helsinki to Luxembourg, Tirana, Turin, and Thessaloniki, further broadening Finnair’s European network.
Finnair is well-equipped for seamless transfers in under 40 minutes at Helsinki, allowing for easy connections from major UK airports, including London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Furthermore, plans for winter 2026 include resuming direct flights to Krabi, Thailand, and increasing frequencies to Bangkok, reaffirming its commitment to the Asian market.
