Fliggy Innovates with AI in Its Transition to Omni-Intelligent Travel Agents

Fliggy is taking the lead as the first online travel platform to implement a multi-agent model for developing AI products. This shift represents Fliggy’s strategic move away from traditional online travel agencies towards a future dominated by omni-intelligent travel agents.

As the CTO Alex Chen emphasizes, “At Fliggy we believe the future lies not with traditional online travel agencies, but with omni-intelligent travel agents which will be the new ‘OTAs’.” This vision is supported by the introduction of various AI-powered tools aimed at enhancing user experience in both consumer-facing and B2B scenarios.

Starting with AskMe

The journey commenced in April when Fliggy rolled out the AskMe AI travel assistant. This innovation harnesses the collaborative efforts of multiple specialized AI agents to tailor travel plans for users, simulating a service akin to that provided by professional travel teams. Since its launch, AskMe has introduced features like itinerary mapping, heat maps of popular locations, and photo-based audio guides.

Fliggy’s business segment, AliBtrip, curated an AI solution for corporate travel, featuring personalized agents that streamline travel management processes and ensure compliance. European partners are already incorporating these innovative solutions to engage Chinese travelers in new ways.

Harnessing this technology allows Fliggy to provide detailed interpretation materials and AI-generated tour interpretation services, thereby enhancing the travel experience for users.

Looking Ahead

Looking to the future, about 10% of online customer inquiries at Fliggy are currently managed by AI. The AskMe platform allows users to engage with various specialized assistants like flight search experts and local tour guides, thereby enriching the overall travel consultancy experience. Chen explains that this multi-agent architecture enables effective handling of complex and unpredictable travel requests by orchestrating the right tools for diverse tasks.

With these advancements, Fliggy is set to redefine the travel landscape by merging innovation and customer-centric solutions.
