Etihad Cargo Enhances Southeast Asia Reach Through Teleport Partnership
Etihad Cargo has entered into a strategic partnership with Teleport to expand its logistics network in Southeast Asia, launching new freighter services from Cambodia.
Southeast Asian integrated logistics specialist Teleport recently signed a partnership with Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics arm of Etihad Airways.
The agreement was finalized on Monday, November 3rd, at Air Cargo Southeast Asia, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing partnership between Etihad Cargo and Teleport, which currently operates a successful joint freighter service from Ho Chi Minh City.
This collaboration, involving Capital A’s logistics division, focuses on expanding Etihad Cargo’s network throughout Southeast Asia with a new freighter deployment from Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Highlights of the new service:
- Scheduled to start in the winter 2025 season, the service will feature two weekly flights utilizing Airbus A321F aircraft, adding 50 tonnes of cargo capacity weekly.
- The new route will facilitate seamless cargo connections through Abu Dhabi to major global markets, including the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.
- This move follows Etihad Airways’ recent launch of passenger flights to Phnom Penh with the Airbus A321LR, which has seen robust cargo demand since its introduction.
- The added freighter capacity aims to meet the needs of Cambodia’s growing import and export sectors, focusing on garments, electronics, perishables, and pharmaceuticals.
Stanislas Brun, Etihad Airways’ chief cargo officer, emphasized that this deployment strengthens their Southeast Asian presence and enhances connectivity for Cambodian exporters to vital global markets.
Jan Philipp Pöter from Teleport remarked on the evolution of their partnership, highlighting the progression from interline cooperation in 2022 to the launch of additional freighter routes across Southeast Asia, thereby underscoring their commitment to mutual growth.
