TAP Air Portugal to Launch Two New Routes to the U.S. in 2025

The airline will introduce direct flights connecting Lisbon to Los Angeles and Porto to Boston starting in 2025.

TAP Air Portugal is set to introduce two new routes to the United States, directly linking Lisbon with Los Angeles and Porto with Boston.

Details of the New Routes:

  • Lisbon to Los Angeles: Starting on May 16, 2025, with flights on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays until May 26. A fourth weekly flight will be added on Saturdays and will operate until October 25. The flights will depart Lisbon at 09:55 AM, arriving in Los Angeles at 14:40 PM, with a total flight time of 12 hours and 45 minutes.
  • Porto to Boston: Commencing on May 14, 2025, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays until October 25. The flights will leave Porto at 18:05 PM and reach Boston at 20:30 PM, with a total duration of 7 hours and 25 minutes.

In addition, beginning June 3, 2025, a weekly TAP flight from Lisbon to San Francisco will have a stop at Terceira Island. This will provide a new direct connection for the Azorean community.

Currently, TAP operates flights from Lisbon to seven U.S. airports: New York, Newark, Boston, Miami, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Chicago, and from Porto to Newark. “We are very excited to announce the new flights from Lisbon to Los Angeles and from Porto to Boston, as well as the weekly direct flight between Terceira and San Francisco,” said Luís Rodrigues, president of TAP. “With these new routes, TAP further strengthens its privileged position in transatlantic connections for customers seeking the best flight experience between Europe, America, and Africa.”
