Accor Announces Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah to Open with 1,141 Rooms by 2026

Accor has revealed plans for the Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah, a major project set to become the largest Sofitel hotel globally by 2026, located near the holy mosque.

Accor recently announced the signing of Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah, a significant hotel project in the heart of Makkah, close to the holy mosque.

Set for a grand opening in 2026, this hotel promises to be the largest Sofitel location worldwide, housing 1,141 rooms and suites.

“We are honored to introduce Sofitel in Makkah, a city of profound spiritual and cultural significance. The Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah aims to embody hospitality, serenity, and connection…”
– Maud Bailly, CEO Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems

The hotel is strategically placed within the prestigious Jabal Omar master development, ensuring direct pedestrian access to the Haram, Islam’s most sacred site. It will span two towers—Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah North and Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah South, each offering stunning views of the Holy Mosque.

Designed to harmonize French sophistication and Saudi cultural heritage, the hotel will provide a range of exquisite dining options, executive meeting facilities, and wellness centers.

Guests can enjoy six unique dining venues, including a fine-dining experience that merges French and Middle Eastern flavors, alongside superb personalized service. The development is being executed in collaboration with Jabal Omar Development Company (JODC), recognized for its significant projects in Makkah’s urban evolution.

This partnership underscores both Accor’s and JODC’s commitment to providing an extraordinary hospitality experience while respecting cultural values and promoting sustainable practices.
