MSC Magnifica Embarks on a Grand World Voyage from Malaga

The MSC Magnifica sets sail from Malaga, commencing a remarkable 120-day world cruise.

This Thursday, January 9, Malaga becomes the starting point for one of the most fascinating journeys in maritime tourism. Arriving from Barcelona, the MSC Magnifica docked at the southern pier of the Levante maritime station, marking the first stop of the MSC World Cruise 2025, a trip around the world that will visit 46 destinations across 21 countries over 120 days.

Although MSC Cruises often has ships at the Malaga pier, the arrival of the Magnifica stands out for its exceptional itinerary. After leaving the port of Barcelona, this ship will circle the globe with stops at exotic locations such as Salvador de Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, the Falkland Islands, Ushuaia, Tahiti, French Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, the Maldives, Seychelles, South Africa, Namibia, and Senegal. The journey will culminate at the end of April, when the ship calls at Fuerteventura before returning to the Mediterranean.

The Magnifica: Luxury and Entertainment on Board
Built in 2010 at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyards in France, the MSC Magnifica is the fourth and final ship in the Musica class. With a length of 294 meters, 16 decks, and the capacity to accommodate 3,013 passengers in 1,259 cabins, this cruise ship combines luxury, comfort, and a wide range of leisure activities.

Among its most notable features are an indoor pool with a retractable roof, a full-size bowling alley, a 4D cinema, a casino, water parks, and the spectacular Royal Theatre, which hosts impressive shows. Additionally, passengers can enjoy five restaurants, 12 themed bars, and a variety of parties and karaoke events that enhance their experience.

Excursions and On-Land Experiences
Beyond on-board amenities, the MSC Magnifica cruise includes 15 land excursions at no extra cost, allowing passengers to explore the most iconic destinations along the itinerary. This is complemented by the Dine & Drink package, which offers drinks at the main restaurants and the buffet at specific hours.

The Spirit of Adventure in Numbers
With 157 Spaniards on board, including 11 from Andalusia, the MSC World Cruise 2025 promises an unforgettable experience for its travelers. This maritime adventure, following in the footsteps of the MSC Poesia in 2024, reestablishes Malaga as a key port in the itineraries of major international shipping companies.

This spectacular start to a world tour from Malaga reaffirms the city’s significance as a hub in cruise tourism, attracting travelers from around the world and establishing itself as a gateway to grand maritime adventures.
