Expansion of Great Walks of Australia: New Signature Walks Added

Great Walks of Australia enhances its offerings with the introduction of Uluru-Kata Tjuta and Kangaroo Island Signature Walks, promising unparalleled nature experiences.

Great Walks of Australia recently broadened its offerings to 15 guided walks nationwide, featuring the new Uluru-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk and Kangaroo Island Signature Walk, both managed by the Tasmanian Walking Company.

Launched in 2013 within Tourism Australia’s Signature Experiences program, Great Walks of Australia sets the standard for premium nature tourism. Each walk adheres to strict inclusion criteria, providing all-inclusive, multi-day hiking experiences that highlight Australia’s most stunning landscapes, wilderness, and cultural heritage.

Genevieve Matthews, Executive Officer of Great Walks of Australia, expressed excitement over welcoming these two new walks, which enhance both the depth and appeal of the collection. She remarked:

“Uluru-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk and Kangaroo Island Signature Walk offer guests an extraordinary combination of nature immersion, expert guides, comfort, culture, and storytelling, which defines what makes a Great Walk of Australia truly great.”

She further described the experiences as journeys through Australia’s Red Centre and the rugged coastline of South Australia, respectively.

In total, the Tasmanian Walking Company now manages six Great Walks, including the renowned Cradle Mountain, Bay of Fires, Three Capes, and Twelve Apostles Signature Walks.

Brett Godfrey noted the privilege of sharing these iconic landscapes and maintaining a trusted partnership with Great Walks of Australia. He stated:

“Both Uluru-Kata Tjuta Signature Walk and Kangaroo Island Signature Walk represent not only world-class hiking experiences, but also a profound respect for the landscape, cultural heritage, and environment in which they take place.”

Robin Mack, Acting Manager Director of Tourism Australia, highlighted that the announcement reinforces Great Walks of Australia’s status in nature-based tourism, inviting both domestic and international visitors to deeply engage with nature, culture, and place.
