Philippine Tourism Department and TikTok Join Forces for Business Training
A collaboration to enhance digital skills among local tourism businesses in the Philippines through TikTok's guidance.
The Philippines’ Department of Tourism (DOT) is collaborating with TikTok to support local tourism entrepreneurs by providing training focused on content creation. This initiative aims to equip businesses with the necessary digital skills to effectively promote their services and products online.
An agreement solidifying this partnership was signed on October 21, at the DOT’s headquarters in Makati City. The training will include educational sessions specifically designed for small hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, travel agencies, and tourism organizations.
The initial phase of these educational sessions will accept at least 50 businesses accredited by the DOT. While the DOT has started selecting participants, interested parties can reach out to their local DOT regional office to express their interest.
“We are confident that they will be able to grow their business and tell their own stories on the platform.”

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco emphasized the importance of this cooperation, saying:
“Technology may evolve, but our mission remains: to uplift the life of our fellow Filipinos, showcase the best of our country… With TikTok, we’re not just keeping pace with change; rather, we are reshaping how the world experiences and loves the Philippines.”
