Emirates enhances the flight experience during Diwali, offering a range of sweet treats and entertainment options onboard.
In celebration of Diwali - the Hindu festival of lights, Emirates will sweeten flights with Diwali delights and entertainment from 17 to 24 October.
Diwali delicacies will be available across all classes on flights between Dubai and major Indian cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
Diwali Sweet Treats Across All Cabin Classes
Travellers celebrating Diwali can enjoy a selection of delicious sweets. Economy Class passengers will receive a traditional motichoor laddu with their meal—a dessert made of fried chickpea flour balls, sweetened and fragrant with cardamom and saffron, topped with pistachios. First and Business Class travellers will be treated to a Kaju pista roll, a creamy rose-flavored roll made of cashew, pistachio, and featuring dried fruits, all encased in silver leaves.
Flavourful Favourites in Emirates’ Lounges
In the First and Business Class Lounges in Dubai, customers can indulge in onion kachoris and paneer potli samosas, served with tamarind and mint chutneys, along with delicious Diwali desserts such as balushahi, kesar rasgullas, and gajar ka halwa. First Class customers can enjoy a special Diwali cocktail, the Spicy Saffron Martini, or try a Chai Chat Latte mocktail. Meanwhile, Business Class passengers can sip on an Elderflower Gin Fizz or a Berry Basil Splash mocktail.
For lounging travellers in Cape Town and Johannesburg, renowned for their Indian populations, additional treats include gulab jamun and traditional rice pudding, complemented by a refreshing mango lassi.
Endless Entertainment on Emirates’ ice
During the journey, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, will feature up to 167 Indian films, including both new and classic Bollywood titles like Laapataa Ladies, Crazxy, Jigra, The Lost Girl, and Apurva. Additionally, there is a diverse selection of regional Indian films available in nine languages and multiple popular Indian TV shows. Music fans can also enjoy 40 Indian albums and playlists to enhance the festive atmosphere.
