Birmingham Airport (BHX) has concluded the summer travel season impressively, recording over 1.3 million passengers in September 2025. Specifically, 1,346,071 individuals traveled through the airport, reflecting a 2.7% rise compared to the same period last year.
The continuous growth aligns with the recent announcement of a variety of new routes from BHX slated for the winter season, including destinations such as Salzburg, Sibiu, and Suceava. Popular September destinations also included sun-drenched locales like Malaga, Dalaman, and Alicante. The busiest long-haul route was to Dubai, catering to over 51,000 passengers throughout the month. BHX is on course for its busiest year yet, with a forecast of 14 million passengers in total for 2025/26.
To prioritize customer experience, the airport recently unveiled its ‘Connected Personal Experiences’ initiative, featuring several tech advancements aimed at enhancing passenger journeys.
