UAE's Cultural Heart: Jazeera Airways Revives Flights to Al Ain
Jazeera Airways has resumed flights to the UAE's historic 'Garden City', enhancing travel links and promoting cultural exchanges.
Few travellers are aware that Al Ain, referred to as the “Garden City” of the UAE, is among the oldest constantly inhabited settlements globally, known for its ancient oases and multiple UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Now, visiting it has become even more accessible as Jazeera Airways has officially returned to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, establishing fresh air travel routes that connect heritage, culture, and modernity.
Abu Dhabi Airports announced the airline’s comeback, offering four weekly non-stop flights from Kuwait International Airport (KWI)—twice weekly to Zayed International Airport (AUH) and also to Al Ain International Airport (AAN)—following their inaugural flights on October 2, 2025. These routes underscore the increasing significance of both cities within the Gulf’s aviation network and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s aim to enhance trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges. The new services are expected to attract both leisure and business travellers, providing a valuable option for exploring one of the UAE’s most historically rich locales.
The relaunch signifies more than merely re-establishing a route. It serves as a reconnection between two culturally and commercially historic centres. By linking Kuwait, a key player in the Gulf’s aviation sector, with Al Ain, the region’s cultural heart, Jazeera Airways strengthens the growing ties between heritage and innovation shaping the future of the area.
“Jazeera Airways’ return is testament to the strength and attractiveness of the airports we operate across the emirate,” stated Elena Sorlini, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports. “Welcoming direct service back to Al Ain is particularly crucial, as the city is essential to our strategy in developing vibrant gateways that stimulate investment, attract tourism, and connect communities.” She further noted that enhancing air connectivity with Kuwait, both at Al Ain and Zayed International Airports, aligns with their vision of positioning Abu Dhabi as an inviting, world-class destination.
For Jazeera Airways, this move marks a significant step in its mission to enhance regional access through affordable and dependable services.
“Our return to Abu Dhabi and Al Ain illustrates our commitment to providing travellers with more economical and convenient travel options across the region,” remarked Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways. “Serving Al Ain, a city rich in cultural and economic relevance, is a source of satisfaction for us and contributes to its exciting developmental journey. This new connection fortifies our expanding network in the Gulf and promotes trade and tourism between Kuwait and the broader emirate.”
