Oman Air and Qantas Strengthen Loyalty Program Through Mutual Frequent Flyer Accrual
A new partnership between Oman Air and Qantas enhances loyalty benefits for travelers, supporting tourism between Oman and Australia.
Oman Air and Qantas have announced a significant advancement for travelers traveling between Oman and Australia by implementing reciprocal frequent flyer accrual. This initiative builds upon a prior redemption agreement established in October 2024, allowing Sindbad members to redeem their miles on Qantas flights, while granting Qantas members the same option within Oman Air’s network.
Now, with Oman Air’s inclusion in the oneworld alliance, Sindbad members can earn miles and Tier Credits on Qantas flights, and Qantas members can earn Points and Status Credits on Oman Air journeys.
This enhanced partnership not only increases the benefits for Sindbad and Qantas Frequent Flyer members but also aligns with national tourism goals by attracting more Australian visitors to Oman. The new digital stopover program further simplifies planning trips to Oman.
Rohan Patell, Oman Air’s head of partnerships and alliances, stated: “Today marks an exciting new chapter in our relationship with Qantas and for Oman Air’s presence in Australia.” Translation: Today marks an exciting new chapter in our relationship with Qantas and for Oman Air’s presence in Australia.
Renata Rached, the airline’s vice-president for loyalty, guest experience, and brand, mentioned, “By enhancing our current arrangement, we are providing greater value and delivering a seamless loyalty experience for our members, making journeys to and from Muscat more enjoyable.”
Kate Sherwood from Qantas noted that their frequent flyers have access to thousands of reward seats across the Oman Air network, saying: “We’ve seen strong demand from members since launching our partnership last year. Now, with the added advantage of earning Qantas Points and Status Credits, travel with Oman Air will be even more attractive.”
