Ryanair Boosts Connectivity in Malaga with 83 Routes for Winter 2025/2026 Including Nine New Destinations

Ryanair has announced an ambitious winter schedule for Malaga-Costa del Sol airport, featuring a total of 83 routes, reinforcing its strategic position in southern Europe.

Turismo Costa del Sol has positively evaluated Ryanair’s announcement regarding its winter 2025/2026 programming for Malaga-Costa del Sol airport. The airline continues its strategic commitment to the region with a total of 83 routes, nine of which are new international connections, reinforcing Malaga airport’s status as one of the main connectivity engines in southern Europe.

Among the new destinations are Pardubice, Ostrava, and Brno (Czech Republic); Bratislava (Slovakia); Lübeck and Münster (Germany); Stockholm Västerås (Sweden); Teesside (England), and Warsaw (Poland). Additionally, there will be extra flights on high-demand routes such as Copenhagen, Dublin, Fez, and Milan, allowing for a 7% increase in Ryanair’s capacity in Malaga during the winter season.

This programming will utilize 15 aircraft that Ryanair has based in Malaga, representing an estimated investment of $1.5 billion and sustaining over 6,800 local jobs. The decision reinforces the airline’s commitment to the Costa del Sol and ensures a continuous flow of tourists throughout the year, benefiting both the tourism sector and the economy of the province of Malaga.

Francisco Salado, President of Turismo Costa del Sol, emphasized the importance of this investment: “Ryanair’s commitment to Malaga, with new routes and increased frequencies, is crucial for strengthening the air connectivity of Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport. This commitment not only consolidates the Costa del Sol’s position in strategic international markets but also boosts tourism throughout the year and supports thousands of local jobs linked to the sector.”

The announcement comes amid sustained growth at Malaga-Costa del Sol airport, which recorded over 9 million arrivals between January and August 2025, a 7.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Within this volume, Ryanair transported more than 2.8 million passengers, representing 31.2% of total arrivals, making the airline the largest operator at the destination.

Looking ahead to the last quarter of 2025, forecasts indicate a 5.6% increase in seating capacity to Malaga, with a total of 4.9 million seats available. Of these, 4.07 million correspond to international flights, highlighting the significance of European source markets in the tourism activity of the Costa del Sol. The airport will connect to 52 countries and 141 cities through 54 airlines, ensuring a diverse and robust network.
