
Etihad Airways Launches New Route from Abu Dhabi to Peshawar
The inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to Peshawar marks a significant expansion in Etihad Airways' service to Pakistan, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing connections in South Asia.
Inaugural Launch
Etihad Airways celebrated its first direct flight to Peshawar (PEW), enhancing its connections from Pakistan to the UAE and beyond. This new service connects Abu Dhabi with Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, renowned for its historical significance and cultural heritage.
The route aims to meet the demand from the over 1.5 million Pakistanis living in the UAE while also facilitating increased trade and tourism. This addition brings Etihad’s total destinations in Pakistan to four - alongside Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, stated: “The launch of Peshawar highlights our commitment to establishing a robust global network. With Pakistan being home to a large expatriate community in the UAE, this new route aims to provide greater flexibility for their travel needs”.
Etihad plans to operate five weekly flights initially, ramping up to daily service by November 20, utilizing its Airbus A320 aircraft.
Upcoming Destinations in South Asia
Etihad is also set for a significant expansion to various destinations in South Asia, including Medan in Indonesia and Phnom Penh in Cambodia in early October.
