Intrepid Travel marks its 20th anniversary in Vietnam, highlighting its contribution to sustainable tourism and cultural experiences.
Global travel firm Intrepid Travel recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its first Destination Management Company in Vietnam. This milestone was marked at an industry event in Hanoi attended by co-founder Geoff Manchester and Natalie Kidd, the Asia managing director and head of global operations, alongside local team members and industry partners.
Special guests at the event included Cecilia Brennan, economic counsellor from the Australian Embassy, and Ha Van Sieu, deputy director of Vietnam’s National Tourism Administration. Representatives from the Departments of Tourism in Hanoi and Tuyen Quang were also present.
Intrepid Vietnam has welcomed travelers from around the globe, providing experiences that showcase the country’s rich culture, heritage, and natural beauty over the past two decades. In the last year alone, 20,000 travelers from Australia and New Zealand visited Vietnam with Intrepid, underscoring the destination’s ongoing appeal.
Reflecting on this 20-year journey, Geoff Manchester remarked: “Vietnam has been an important destination for Intrepid from the beginning. Celebrating two decades of operations speaks to the trust and partnership with our stakeholders and communities that have embraced Intrepid’s travelers. We are proud of what we’ve accomplished together and will continue to promote responsible tourism in Vietnam moving forward.”
Natalie Kidd stated that Vietnam was the first destination where Intrepid launched a destination management company, citing its popularity over the years: “It has been our most popular destination worldwide for the past two decades. This milestone illustrates our long-term commitment to Vietnam and our vision with local partners to foster sustainable tourism in the future.”
General Manager Hanh Nguyen expressed pride in the team’s efforts to ensure that countless travelers experience Vietnam’s rich culture. She added, “I am proud of our collaborations with Vu Art and the Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation. I look forward to the next 20 years, sharing Vietnam’s beauty with the world, while supporting responsible travel that benefits both people and the planet.”
