Michelin Guide Gala 2026 Moves to Sohrlin Andalucía in Málaga
The annual Michelin Guide Gala for Spain 2026 is set to take place in Málaga, highlighting the region's culinary excellence.
The annual Michelin Guide Gala for Spain 2026 will be held in Málaga on November 25. The event, previously scheduled for the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Málaga, has moved to Sohrlin Andalucía, a new venue dedicated to performing arts and cultural entertainment that aims to provide a representative environment reflecting the Andalusian identity and its international projection.
The decision to relocate was made after consultations with the collaborating institutions for this edition: the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación de Málaga, and the Ayuntamiento of Málaga. Sohrlin Andalucía, initiated by Antonio Banderas and Domingo Merlín, presents itself as a venue designed for grand events with soul, combining avant-garde, artistic creation, research, and training in the performing arts and culture.
For Michelin, this choice underscores its commitment to cultural diversity and the vibrancy of regions that promote Spanish gastronomy internationally. Francisco Salado, President of the Diputación de Málaga, noted that hosting the ceremony “strengthens the province’s position in the tourism and gastronomic fields, where we are already very strong, and will place us in the global spotlight,” emphasizing the economic impact and international repercussions of the event. Málaga is the Andalusian province with the most Michelin Stars (eleven in nine restaurants), and the gala aims to enhance the brand narrative ‘Sabor a Málaga’ and promote the province’s gastronomy.
The culinary coordinators for the Gala will be Benito Gómez (Bardal, 2 Michelin Stars) and Mario Cachinero and Marcos Granda (Skina, 2 Michelin Stars), ambassadors of Málaga’s haute cuisine. This marks the first time Málaga will host the presentation Gala for the Michelin Guide Spain 2026, taking over from the Region of Murcia and continuing to recognize Andalusia as a center of culinary excellence.
The Michelin Guide selects the best restaurants and hotels from over 40 destinations where it is present. It showcases global gastronomy, highlighting trends, talents, and sustainability, with editions available in print and digital format, and online booking options. The guide continues to accompany millions of travelers and promote high-quality experiences in hospitality and dining.
