Dida Holdings, the global leader in AI-first travel technology, has announced the appointment of Daryl Lee as the Group CEO, starting from October 5. This decision reflects Dida’s strategy to enhance its leadership in travel tech innovation and expand globally.

Lee’s appointment was made public by the company’s founder, Rikin Wu, on September 13. In his statement, Wu highlighted the evolution of Dida since its inception in 2012, focusing on innovation through strategic partnerships and advanced technology. He noted, “I am proud to welcome Daryl as our Group CEO. His proven leadership, expertise, and international experience will help us accelerate our mission: to bridge China and the world through smarter solutions and stronger partnerships.”

Lee responded enthusiastically: “I am honoured to join Dida at such a transformative time. What excites me most is Dida’s unique ability to act as a gateway for travel innovation: combining scale, speed, and AI-first technology with a global outlook.”

Three Pillars of Growth

As Lee prepares to assume his role, Dida is already advancing its agenda to become a comprehensive AI-first travel tech group, aiming to harmonize the great capabilities of the Chinese market with the diverse demands of global travel partners. Dida’s focus areas include:

  1. Travel: Expanding its high-value global distribution network, emphasizing partnerships in regions such as Europe and the Americas.
  2. Technology: Infusing AI into vital hotel operations to enhance performance across the board.
  3. New Ventures: Investing in innovations that propel growth and operational capabilities.

Background of Daryl Lee

Previously, Lee held the position of Global CEO at WebBeds and managed business areas at GTA in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. He began his career in aviation with Singapore Airlines and holds an Economics degree from the London School of Economics. Lee’s appointment underscores Dida’s objective of serving as a crucial link between China and the broader global travel market, providing access to emerging technologies and the world’s largest outbound travel market.
