Chalet Hotels Achieves Climate Group’s EV100 Milestone

Chalet Hotels becomes the first hospitality brand to meet the Climate Group's EV100 target, committing to fully electric vehicles by 2025.

Chalet Hotels has announced its successful achievement of the Climate Group’s EV100 commitment (2021), marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey. By transitioning its fleet to 100% electric vehicles (EVs) and installing extensive charging infrastructure across all properties, Chalet has also taken a significant step towards achieving Net Zero.

As a member of EV100, a global initiative aiming to speed up the transition to electric mobility by 2030, Chalet Hotels committed to reach this target by 2025. By fulfilling this promise ahead of schedule, Chalet has set a new standard for the hospitality sector.

This achievement represents Chalet’s commitment to integrate sustainability into its core business strategy, consistent with its broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap and its goal of achieving Net-Zero emissions by 2040. It also underscores the company’s support for national and global climate initiatives, including India’s e-mobility mission and the Paris Agreement.

Chalet’s efforts to meet the EV100 target showcase how the hospitality industry can lead the way in promoting clean mobility and reinforces its position as a leader in sustainable hospitality, continually looking to minimize its environmental impact while enhancing guest experiences.

Dr. Sanjay Sethi, Managing Director & CEO of Chalet Hotels Limited, stated: “The hospitality sector has a unique responsibility—and opportunity—to influence sustainable choices at scale. By adopting electric mobility across our operations, we are taking decisive steps to reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality in our communities, and provide our guests with greener, future-ready travel options. Greener journeys, cleaner air—hospitality must lead the way.”

Dr. Divya Sharma, India Executive Director of Climate Group, remarked: “Chalet Hotels is the first hospitality business in India to commit to EV100. They’ve demonstrated ambition and have turned their pledge into reality, having fully electrified their committed fleets and established essential charging infrastructure at their properties. I congratulate them for being a shining example of corporate commitment to sustainability.”

By leading the charge on the EV100 target, Chalet Hotels continues to affirm its status as a pioneer in sustainable hospitality, innovating relentlessly to minimize its environmental impact while elevating the guest experience.
