Zedwell Capsule Hotel Opens in Piccadilly Circus: A New Era for Urban Hospitality

The world's largest capsule hotel debuts in London, offering affordable stays in the heart of the city.

Zedwell, London’s innovative sleep-focused hotel chain, has launched the Zedwell Capsule Hotel Piccadilly Circus, positioning itself as the world’s largest capsule hotel. Room rates start at just £30 per night, making it a budget-friendly option in Central London.

Situated right above the Piccadilly Circus Underground Station, this establishment transforms urban lodging, allowing visitors to enjoy cost-effective stays without sacrificing comfort. With almost 1000 capsule rooms sprawled across five floors, it is located within the reimagined London Pavilion, mere moments from major locales like London’s West End, Soho, and Chinatown.

Capsule hotels are designed to provide guests with compact, self-contained sleeping pods that prioritize privacy, tranquility, and efficiency. Each capsule at Zedwell features a single Hypnos mattress, Egyptian cotton linens, smart climate control, and noise-canceling designs, focusing on delivering an optimal night’s sleep.

Among the amenities available to guests are modern lounges and co-working areas, along with secure storage for larger luggage and well-planned communal facilities. The hotel’s centrality offers visitors unparalleled access to London’s vibrant culture, including theatres, restaurants, and shopping districts.

For all types of travelers, from solo adventurers to groups, capsule rooms are sized to accommodate anywhere from 8 to 100 capsules, including options specifically for women. Zedwell makes urban stays affordable by providing a simpler lodging experience, with additional services like padlocks and towels offered for a small fee.

“London is one of the most exciting cities in the world, but it can also be overwhelming and expensive,” said Halima Aziz, Head of Hotels at Criterion Hospitality. “We are taking the capsule hotel concept to the next level, one that combines an exceptional location with a focus on simplicity, thoughtful design, and the highest quality of sleep. Our aim is to create a welcoming, design-focused space that balances accessibility with privacy and quality rest within the city’s heart.”

With a strong commitment to sustainability, Zedwell repurposed an existing building, which not only breathes new life into abandoned spaces but also significantly reduces its environmental impact, aligning with the company’s values.

With Piccadilly Circus welcoming over 100 million visitors each year, this hotel is poised to become a tourist hotspot, with future developments in the pipeline that will enhance the guest experience - marking the beginning of an evolving narrative for urban accommodation.
