Dusit Thani College Certified as Japan's First Testing Center for Hospitality Skills
The certification allows Thai and ASEAN graduates new career paths in Japan's hospitality industry.
Dusit Thani College, renowned for hospitality education under Dusit International, is now the first center in Thailand authorized to administer Japan’s Accommodation Industry Proficiency Test. This initiative opens new career pathways for Thai and ASEAN graduates wishing to work in Japan’s hospitality industry.
This landmark achievement took place after an agreement was signed on September 2, 2025, with the General Incorporated Association Center for Accommodation Industry Proficiency Test and the All Japan Ryokan Hotel Association, with support from the Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau and Jeducation language school in Bangkok.
As the first certified testing center in Thailand, Dusit Thani College will recruit and train students through its top-notch hospitality and culinary arts programs, facilitating local certification for successful candidates. These graduates will be eligible for employment in Japan via the Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa program introduced in 2019, which addresses labor shortages in various sectors, including hospitality.
Moreover, aligning with Dusit Thani College’s fast-track Talent Opportunity Programme (TOP), candidates can prepare for entry-level roles in just six months, gaining essential training and certification that leads to employment in Japan.
The All Japan Ryokan Hotel Association, which represents over 15,000 traditional inns and hotels throughout Japan, will promote certified candidates during dedicated job fairs in Bangkok. Dusit Hotels and Resorts will also be engaging with graduates to welcome them into their properties in Japan, including Dusit Thani Kyoto and ASAI Kyoto Shijo, enhancing international placement chances. Jeducation, a prominent Japanese language school in Bangkok, will provide necessary language training to meet SSW visa criteria, preparing participants for relocation and work life in Japan.
