US Department of Transportation Concludes Delta-Aeromexico Joint Venture

The U.S. Department of Transportation has issued a final order to terminate the Delta-Air Mexico joint venture effective January 1, 2026, provoking a significant response from Delta Air Lines.

Delta Air Lines has expressed its disappointment following the U.S. Department of Transportation’s final order issued on September 15 to dismantle the Delta-Aeromexico joint cooperation agreement, effective January 1, 2026.

“We are disappointed that the Department of Transportation has chosen to terminate its approval of the strategic and pro-competitive partnership between Delta and Aeromexico, a decision that will cause significant harm to U.S. jobs, communities and consumers traveling between the U.S. and Mexico. We are reviewing the Department’s order and considering next steps.”
(Translation: “We’re disillusioned with the Department of Transportation’s decision to end our partnership.”)

All flights will continue to operate as usual unless notified otherwise by Delta.
