Indonesia Launches Digital Arrival Card to Enhance Visitor Experience
Indonesia is introducing a digital system for travelers to streamline arrivals while reducing waste.
Indonesia has implemented a digital arrival card for travelers entering through its air and sea ports. This new All Indonesia online travel declaration system, which became mandatory on September 1st, is required for arrivals at several major international airports including Soekarno-Hatta in Jakarta, Denpasar in Bali, and Juanda in Surabaya. Furthermore, all other international airports will adopt this system by October 1st.
The All Indonesia digital arrival card is a centralized platform that integrates all immigration, customs, health, and quarantine processes into a single digital interface. This initiative significantly decreases the carbon footprint by eliminating the need for paper forms while increasing efficiency and convenience for travelers.
Users can complete their arrival cards online at the official website or through the All Indonesia mobile application, which is available in Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Chinese. Although QR codes will still be available at immigration checkpoints, travelers are encouraged to submit their declarations up to three days prior to their arrival for a smoother entry process. Note that filling out the card is mandatory, even for those eligible for visa-free entry, and there is no charge for using the system.
