Hong Kong Airlines has inaugurated a new direct flight service between Hong Kong and Lijiang. To mark this launch, the airline held inaugural ceremonies at both Hong Kong International Airport and Lijiang Sanyi International Airport.

Jeff Sun, President of Hong Kong Airlines, shared:
“We are delighted to introduce this exclusive direct service to Lijiang, providing travelers with a convenient option to reach this popular tourist destination. With the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival long holidays approaching, we believe this new route will become a favorite during the ‘Golden Week’ period, attracting more visitors to explore Lijiang’s unique charm.”

Further elaborating on the service, he mentioned that the direct route not only significantly reduces travel time but also seamlessly integrates with their extensive international network. Passengers traveling from Australia and North America can easily connect via Hong Kong to Lijiang with hassle-free transfers.

Lijiang, located in southwest China, is a crucial gateway connecting the mainland to Southeast Asia. The establishment of this route enhances economic and cultural ties between Hong Kong and western China, promoting tourism between the two regions and bolstering Hong Kong’s role in the ‘Belt and Road Initiative’.

Hong Kong Airlines remains committed to serving the Chinese market, covering major cities and airports like Beijing and Lijiang. In preparation for the upcoming travel peak, the airline will adjust its flight capacities to meet demand, including increasing frequencies to other destinations.
