Hosted buyers and media professionals celebrated traditional Vietnamese cuisine at the Van Thanh Tourist Area in Ho Chi Minh City on September 2nd. This event was a precursor to the global travel and tourism conference scheduled for September 4th at the Saigon Expo and Convention Centre.

A representative from the Ho Chi Minh City tourism department highlighted the conference’s theme, Sustainable Travel: Vibrant Experience, which reflects the vision of honoring culture, preserving the environment, and empowering local communities. It was particularly historic as it coincided with the 80th anniversary of Vietnamese independence, showcasing the significant role of the travel sector in the country’s economy, contributing approximately nine percent to the GDP annually.

Attendees enjoyed southern Vietnamese cuisine and witnessed demonstrations of traditional crafts, culminating in a fireworks display against the city’s skyline, accented by the iconic Landmark 81.
