The integration is expected to deliver a wider range of fares and enhanced booking convenience for Trip.com customers

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has begun offering international air tickets for sale via New Distribution Capability (NDC) on Trip.com. As the first global travel service provider to implement this NDC collaboration with PAL, Trip.com now provides users from Asia, Australia, and the United States access to the same tickets and services available on the PAL website.

Such enhancements were made possible through Travelfusion, a leading content aggregator. This integration now allows Trip.com to present a broader array of ticket options, including lower fares and student rates, along with customizable add-ons like seat selection and baggage options. Customers also benefit from crucial post-booking services, such as itinerary adjustments and refunds, making purchasing PAL tickets through Trip.com far more convenient.

More competitive and more convenient

According to Justin Warby, PAL’s Vice-President for Sales and Distribution, this collaboration aims to provide customers with a seamless and tailored flight purchasing experience. Warby emphasized that through partnerships, PAL can broaden its distribution capabilities and enhance its customer service globally.

Kirk Wong, the Regional Airline Director for Oceania, Southeast Asia, ISC, and the Middle East at Trip.com, expressed pride over being the first global travel service provider to enter an NDC partnership with Philippine Airlines in the Asia-Pacific. He noted that this collaboration will furnish users with improved fare options and a more satisfying booking experience while expanding PAL’s reach in the region.

Moving forward

In the future, customers can look forward to more exclusive NDC deals on the Trip.com platform. This partnership is designed to engage international students traveling between Asia, North America, and Oceania, leveraging Trip.com’s intelligent segmentation tools to provide special offers and bundled products specifically catered to students and first-time travelers. By employing NDC technology, PAL can arrange local fare bundles that reflect real-time demand, thereby improving overall customer satisfaction.
